Job Function
The Manufacturing Teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering high-quality instruction within the Manufacturing Pathway, including Introduction to Welding/Production Print Reading and Production Methods I & II, at the Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC CAPS). This position emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning aligned with industry standards, postsecondary expectations, and workforce readiness. The teacher collaborates with administration, colleagues, and industry partners to support student achievement and the mission, vision, and goals of USD 232.

· Ability to obtain or maintain appropriate CTE or Pathway-related certifications/endorsements as
required

Job Duties
Instruction and Curriculum
· Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, standards/competency-aligned instruction using project-
based and experiential learning strategies
· Teach courses within the Manufacturing Pathway and related automation coursework
· Align curriculum with KSDE Pathway requirements, industry standards, and postsecondary
expectations
· Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
· Develop schemes of work and lesson plans
· Develop and implement lesson plans, units, and projects that support student problem-solving,
critical thinking, and collaboration skills
· Utilize relevant instructional technology, software, and equipment to enhance student learning
Robotics and Automation
· Instruct students in robotics systems, automation processes, and related programming and
control technologies
· Stay current with emerging technologies, automation, and manufacturing technologies
· Ensure safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and lab spaces
Student Support and Assessment
· Foster the intellectual, social, and personal development of students
· Monitor, assess, and evaluate student progress using a variety of formative and summative
assessment methods
· Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, and student performance
· Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs
· Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, keeps appropriate records and
provide progress reports as required.
· Identify student needs and collaborate on intervention strategies, including support for
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other plans
· Engage and nurture industry relationships and placement opportunities for manufacturing
students.
Classroom and Program Management
· Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity
and interest of the students.
· Care for and maintain the Manufacturing lab and its equipment.
· Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and
facilities.
· Maintains shop and classroom consistent with OSHA standards.
· Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and safety
· Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and
conduct and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
· Maintain instructional spaces and labs in compliance with safety standards and district guidelines
Professional Responsibilities
· Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and effective communication
· Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and district policies
· Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and
administrative regulations.
· Meet core expectations for licensed staff as outlined in the USD 232
Professional Growth System
· Maintain appropriate KSDE licensure and participate in professional learning opportunities
· Support and follow the mission, vision, and policies of USD 232
· Commit to availability for students and parents for education-related purposes beyond the
instructional day as needed
· Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
· Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis
· Perform other duties as assigned by administration
