Job Summary
We are seeking a Virginia Resident in Counseling—or an individual fully eligible to obtain Resident in Counseling status with the Virginia Board of Counseling—to join our team as a part-time W2 employee. This role requires seeing approximately 15–25 clients per week in our office located at 9300 Forest Point Cir, Manassas, VA. The office is available for new hire to see clients Monday-Friday after 4PM and on the weekends, with the possibility of adding 1-2 full weekdays of availability. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality psychotherapy (individual, couples, and/or family therapy), maintain professional documentation, and collaborate with our supportive clinical team. Supervision is provided by the practice owner to support your progress toward full licensure as an LPC.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy to clients based on clinical competency and interest.
- Conduct thorough intake assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and document progress using standardized measures (e.g., DSM-5-TR) where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation consistent with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Coordinate care with other professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, primary care physicians, community resources) to ensure continuity and quality of client care.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuing education opportunities.
- Adhere to all federal HIPAA regulations, state licensing laws, and ethical standards set by the Virginia Board of Counseling.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging treatment modalities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases and contribute to a supportive clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field.
- Active Resident in Counseling status in Virginia or eligibility to apply for residency with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
- Ability to work independently while receiving supervision.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) for documentation.
- Willingness to see 15-25 clients per week.
- Availability in afternoons, evenings, or weekends for in-office sessions.
- Willingness to complete background and reference checks before hiring.
- Preferred/Helpful:
- Interest or experience in working with specific populations (children, adolescents, young adults, couples, families).
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT).
