Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, systems-driven Shipping Warehouse Manager to lead our outbound logistics and order fulfillment process. This is a highly active, hands-on role centered on logistical accuracy, document processing, and system management rather than heavy manual labor. Managing a close-knit team of 4-6 direct reports, you will ensure orders are processed flawlessly through our software systems and out the door on time, assuring shipments are properly prepared to avoid damage and meet customer requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Logistics & Carrier Scheduling: Coordinate, schedule, and route all incoming and outgoing trucks, freight carriers, and local pickups to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- System & Data Management: Utilize ERP/MRP systems daily to accurately log inventory movements, close out fulfillment batches, and update system statuses.
- Shipping Documentation: Independently process, verify, and archive all critical transit paperwork, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and product receipts.
- Team Supervision: Directly manage, schedule, and train warehouse personnel, ensuring they maintain productivity and adhere to company standard operating procedures.
- Process Oversight: Maintain an active on-the-floor presence to audit processing steps, troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, and ensure fulfillment compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Software Expertise: Mandatory, hands-on proficiency using ERP or MRP systems. Epicor is preferred but not required.
- Professional Experience: 3 years of warehouse supervisory or logistics coordination experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Documentation Skills: Proven expertise in accurately processing freight paperwork, specifically BOLs and advanced shipping notices.
- Leadership Style: A process-focused leader who enjoys being out on the warehouse floor guiding workflows and interacting with co-workers as well as drivers.
Physical Demands
- Light Lifting: This role focuses on processing and coordination. Shipments are generally capped at a maximum of 30 lbs, with occasional exceptions.
- Mobility: Ability to stand and walk the warehouse floor frequently to oversee staff and check paperwork accuracy.
Standard Hours Monday-Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm and Friday 7:00am-11:00am
