Class A Driver

Winton MFG Compost Works is looking for Class A drivers to safely and efficiently operate our semi/transfer trucks, front/rear load service trucks, roll-off service trucks, and dump trucks. Our Class A drivers are responsible for various tasks depending on the truck assigned and may include delivering our materials to residential and commercial clients, and servicing customers compostable waste carts in the greater Leavenworth, Cashmere, Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Chelan and Quincy areas. This is a non-union position based out of our Leavenworth Compost Facility.Safety is our priority above anything else.

With our composting facility in Leavenworth, Winton MFG is a local manufacturer providing green jobs in Chelan County. Winton MFG produces wholesome, nutrient-rich compost that is sold to businesses, governments and residents, ensuring consumers have access to locally produced, recycled products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Complete daily log.
• Communicate with dispatch team and fellow drivers regularly.
• Interact with customers and public in a professional, courteous manner.
• Deliver compost and other products to homes, dealers and construction sites.
• Maintain daily customer billing paperwork.
• Service Compostable Waste customers in the greater Chelan County and parts of Douglas and Grant counties.
• Document through software and pictures of each account for how full the container is.
• Deliver collected waste to the facility for processing.
• Maintaining the containers/bins and make replacement recommendations.
• Navigate your route efficiently.
• Reliably work scheduled shifts.

Required Skills

• Must be able to perform physical tasks such as tarping loads, climbing in and on trucks, working electric pallet jacks, digging out stuck loads, and washing and fueling trucks.
• Be familiar with local area and have efficient map reading skills for local deliveries and servicing.
• Must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Must interact with public in professional manner.
• Dependable, self-motivated and ability to work without supervision to meet performance standards.
• Be open to a flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands.
• Understand and follow all OSHA/WISHA requirements, including wearing PPE.
• Utilize proper lifting techniques.

Education/Certification

• Class A CDL
• DOT Medical Card
• Insurable driving record

Experience/Other

• Experience with a variety of trucks including Semi, Dump/Pup, and Live floor trailers is great.
• Experience with Front and Rear Load Service, as well as Roll Off Trucks is highly sought.
• Must have experience with 10, 13 & 18 speed transmissions and be able to pass a driving test.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb in and out of trucks up to 8 hours per day; answer and talk on telephone; email on occasion and work with the computer system; drive Class A equipment safely.
