Experienced Diesel Mechanic - $5000 hiring bonus

Cedar Grove Composting is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. Responsibilities for this position includes, troubleshooting and maintaining a diverse range of equipment – trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. The work schedule for this position is swing shift, Monday thru Friday, 1:00PM to 9:30PM.

Medical benefits start on the first of the month following 30 days from your hire date, so our new hires experience a minimal lapse in coverage. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on trucks/trailers, collection vehicles and off-road machinery
  • Diagnose equipment problems and perform corrective repairs
  • Complete accurate work orders showing labor and materials used to perform each job
  • Remain current with industry standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of shop and work area
  • Personal safety and shop safety
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the manager

Required Skills

  • Diverse mechanical aptitude including diesel, gas truck, and equipment repair
  • Computer skills and welding skills are a plus!

Education/Certification

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Experience/Other

  • At least 3 years of diesel mechanic experience is preferred
  • Experience with millwright, truck, or heavy mechanic is ideal
  • Must possess the required tools to perform the applicable job assignment

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, stretch, and bend for an 8-hour day
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces. (i.e. under trucks) or in strenuous positions
