Description

Cedar Crest College is seeking an Educational Experience Designer to support the Crest to Career project by assisting faculty in designing or redesigning courses to incorporate career development competencies. The Educational Experience Designer will work collaboratively with the project team and College faculty to assess existing curricula and pedagogical practices, determine opportunities for the incorporation of career competencies into courses, and develop and implement these revisions to broaden students’ learning relative to career competencies. In addition, the Educational Experience Designer will work collaboratively with the offices in Student Success & Engagement, and the Learning Commons, to support College-wide efforts to ensure high-quality, accessible educational experiences for all students.

The Crest to Career project is a 5-year project supported by a federal Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant. By helping faculty to more deeply incorporate career development education into courses, the Educational Experience Designer plays a significant role in helping the College increase student participation in career development activities.

The Crest to Career project begins its 3rd year in October 2025, during which 80% of the Educational Experience Designer’s time will be allocated to supporting this project. The remaining 20% of the Educational Experience Designer’s time in this year will be allocated to supporting other educational design and faculty development needs. In subsequent years, and continuing after the grant period, this allocation will adjust, with incrementally less time focused on the project and more time working on other projects related to faculty and educational development.

  • Develop and lead professional development activities in topics such as high-impact teaching practices, incorporation and delivery of career competency-based educational strategies, and design and maintenance of accessible educational materials.

  • Assist the Director of Student Accessibility Services in guiding accessible courses and providing accessible course materials and collaborate with the Learning Commons to offer faculty and staff development on topics related to student learning and educational design.
