About the Role
Cedar Creek Energy is a vertically integrated solar developer and EPC contractor serving the Upper Midwest. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own our day-to-day accounting operations and partner closely with our project managers and CFO. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable in construction job-cost accounting and wants ownership of the numbers, not just data entry.
What You Will Do
- Run full-cycle payroll, including W-2s, year-end filings, and quarterly payroll tax reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Support accounts payable: coding, entry, and processing.
- Support accounts receivable: invoicing, billing, and collections follow-up.
- Meet regularly with project managers to review job costing, validate costs against budgets, and enter project costs accurately into Foundation accounting software.
- Serve as the point of contact for employees on pay and reimbursement questions.
- Record inventory entries in coordination with the warehouse manager.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and support the month-end close.
- Perform or assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, with construction or contractor accounting strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Foundation, or comparable construction accounting software.
- Working knowledge of job costing and how project financials flow through to the general ledger.
- Accuracy, follow-through, and comfort working directly with field and project staff.
- Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of certified payroll and prevailing-wage reporting is preferred.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
