Job Summary
Manages the clinical skills practice labs including scheduling and resource management. Collaborates with other faculty members in the creation of learning experiences and in the provision of student instruction and evaluation in nursing skills. Also includes some responsibilities for providing didactic and clinical instruction and evaluation of students.
This is an in person onsite part-time position. Multiple positions available

Ability to lift supplies and equipment. The physical activity of this position includes but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and sitting.
Work Environment
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving

Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates the scheduling of the clinical practice labs among nursing and Health Care Careers.
- Supervise and assist students in the practicing of nursing skills.
- Act as a resource person for students using the clinical labs during open practice hours.
- Evaluate student performance in clinical test-outs.
- Provide supplemental student support and supervision of clinical skills for students who are referred by faculty.
- Collaborate with faculty members in the development of new simulated laboratory experiences for students.
- Mentor students in professional development by role modeling appropriate behavior and critical thinking.
- Coordinate scheduling of students for test outs and workshops.
- Inventory, coordinate ordering, storage, cleaning, and maintenance of the hi-fidelity mannequins.
- Coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of all supplies and equipment used in the assigned laboratories.
- Collaborate with faculty members to identify supportive services, equipment and software needed for assigned labs and submit requests to appropriate individuals.
- Develop and revise, in collaboration with the appropriate faculty, policies and procedures related to the safe usage of equipment and lab space.
- Attend all scheduled and special nursing faculty meetings and meetings of other groups to which assigned (division, committees, etc).
- Keep abreast of current, relevant clinical issues and teaching methods suitable to the clinical learning laboratory.
- Evaluate student performance both formatively and summatively.
- Submit student and agency evaluations and other documentation as necessary when due.
- Active participation in the accreditation process as necessary.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, master’s degree preferred
- Experience: A minimum of five years working as a registered nurse. Teaching and simulation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of simulation equipment and function
- Former work with simulation and nursing technologies and instructional methodology
- Weekdays and some Saturdays and evenings. 20 hours per week.
