Job Summary: The Motor Pump Mechanic position specializes in the repair and maintenance of water and wastewater pumps, electric motors, and related equipment in our motor shop. The role focuses on diagnostics, teardown, rebuilding, and performance testing to ensure reliable operation for municipal, industrial, and commercial customers.

- Disassembly, repair, and testing of Pumps, AC motors DC Motors, and Controls.
- Perform complete repair and overhaul on pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, and gearboxes
- Utilize basic electrical test equipment to troubleshoot motors and pumps
- Occasionally interact with customers and/or crews at job sites and provide exceptional service to each customer
- Keep the facility clean and orderly
- Complete tear-down and inspection paperwork
- Occasionally, may be asked to perform other functions not particularly addressed in this posting
- Regular, in-person attendance is required.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Dependable and willing to learn
- 3 years of electric motor and pump repair experience
- 3 of experience dismantling, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors and generators, AC or DC
- Familiarity with surge testing, hipot testing, use of megger, drop voltage tests, AC/DC theory, AC and DC electric motor connections
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
- Regularly move about within the shop to gather materials
- Constantly place and position small and large parts/materials during the diagnostic and repair process
- Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop.
- The Motor Pump Mechanic reports to the Motor Shop Manager
- Monday - Friday (7:00 am - 3:30 pm)
