Position Summary

This role is responsible for operational and strategic leadership within the division. The VP, Electrical improves CEC's market position and ensures overall financial growth and profitability goals of the division. The focus will target strategic  opportunities that align with the Company’s project profiles and project types for their respected division. There will be a heavy emphasis on strategy, business development, operational excellence, and profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the division; Business Unit Leader for Electrical.
  • Manage division goals and ensure division and company goals align.
  • Responsible for seeking out and completing bid opportunities through client relationships, network opportunities, public and private postings, assigned bid opportunities, etc.
  • Develop growth strategies for the division. Drive expansion of sales and customer base.
  • Remain aware of the competition in the marketplace and adjust accordingly to change.
  • Work to ensure all aspects of projects are met safely, on or under budget and in the appropriate time frame allowed.
  • Support and direct employees on safety practices, lead by example.
  • Introduce new processes and technology to the division and drives the implementation.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plan with specific revenue and profit goals. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet company goals.
  • Participate in weekly sales and estimating meetings.
  • Assist with managing the internal risk review process in collaboration with the PMO
  • Leads the formal proposal and interview process required by clientele.
  • Participates in the overall commercial and contractual negotiations with the client in conjunction with the PMO.
  • Conduct divisional meetings.
  • Facilitate interactions with other departments to ensure good communication and collaboration.
  • Provide support to business development team members to address challenges and resolve issues that they may be having with their pursuits.
  • Manage the business development goals including goal setting and performance appraisal, budget development and expense management.
  • Keep abreast of potential opportunities, new solutions, industry trends, competitor strengths, and weaknesses, and communicate information to the team.
  • Maintain compliance with the Project Management Office.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' related experience
  • Demonstrated success with estimating, PM software, MS Office, and new technologies.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups as well as individuals.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • With access to proprietary and other confidential information, must be highly trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning new work.
  • Business development and heavy client interaction experience
  • Proven experience in mentoring and managing others.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with owners with positive results.
  • Is viewed as a true advocate of the company and someone they can rely on to build a team as well as a lead a successful department.
  • Must possess the utmost of personal integrity and can create and lead an organization culture of collaboration, both internally and externally, to maintain a positive reputation for the company.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities, as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

•    The employee may be required to climb stairs. 
•    Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night or weekend shifts, as needed.
