Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site medical services for the Pine Ridge Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCC). As a member of the Center’s healthcare team, you will focus on early identification, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions for students, ensuring they remain healthy and ready for their vocational and academic training. You will work in coordination with the Center’s Physician and Health and Wellness Director to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Student Care: Provide on-site clinical services, including intake physical examinations and the treatment of acute illnesses such as respiratory infections and flu symptoms.
- Chronic Care Management: Assist in developing and implementing medical treatment and management plans for students with chronic conditions or disabilities.
- Prescriptive Authority: Issue prescriptions for controlled and non-controlled medications as required for student health.
- Health Promotion: Lead efforts in health education, prevention planning, and immunizations as outlined in the Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH).
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately record all student interactions, diagnoses, and treatments in the Student Health Record (SHR) using required Job Corps forms.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Participate in Disability Accommodation Committee (DAC) meetings and coordinate with the Substance Abuse Counselor and other Center staff.
- Emergency & Referrals: Provide first aid and CPR when necessary and establish referral systems for students requiring emergent or specialized care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Must possess an active, unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Nebraska.
- Experience: Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team serving a population of financially disadvantaged youth.
- Compliance: Must strictly adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and federal/state regulations, as well as Job Corps specific guidelines.
- Insurance: Must maintain individual malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.
- Screening: Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug testing is a prerequisite for performance.
Schedule & Environment
- Work Hours: Services are generally required one (1) or two (2) days per week, Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Facility: Services are performed on-site at Pine Ridge; the government provides all necessary workspace, exam rooms, equipment, and PPE.
- Holidays: Personnel are not scheduled to work on federal holidays.
Pay: From $56.00 per hour
