Position Summary:
Responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision-machined parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop, write, and edit CNC programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and models to determine machining requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Create set-up sheets based on established criteria.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues.
- Maintain program documentation and revision control.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
- Knowledge of tooling, cutting conditions, and machining best practices.
- 2 years of experience directly related to CNC programming.
- Working knowledge of Catia V5, and/or Mastercam software.
- Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and good judgement in dealing with incoming projects as well as adapting to changing product parameters and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
