Duties

• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and specialty items, ensuring high standards of quality and freshness
• Decorate cakes and pastries with skillful cake decorating techniques to attract customers
• Package baked items attractively and efficiently for sale at the market
• Engage with customers by providing friendly service, answering questions about products, and sharing baking knowledge
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stall, including food handling areas and display setups
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper kitchen practices during all stages of food production
• Manage inventory levels of baked goods and ingredients, restocking as needed to meet customer demand
• Assist in setting up and breaking down the market stall each day, including transportation of supplies
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during market hours

Qualifications

• Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or culinary food production; bakery or restaurant experience preferred
• Skilled in cake decorating, food preparation, and packaging techniques
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking
• Experience in food industry settings such as catering or restaurant environments is advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment while maintaining attention to detail
