It is about protecting our drivers, supporting our operations, strengthening customer confidence, reducing organizational risk, and creating a culture where every employee takes ownership of doing the right thing.As Director of Safety, you will lead the Company's enterprise-wide transportation safety and regulatory compliance programs while partnering closely with Operations, Human Resources, Maintenance, Claims Administration, and Executive Leadership to drive continuous improvement across the organization.This position combines strategic leadership with operational execution and provides the opportunity to make a measurable impact on business performance.What You'll DoYou'll provide executive leadership in areas including:Developing and executing the Company's transportation safety strategyLeading FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and regulatory compliance initiativesBuilding a proactive safety culture through coaching and leadership developmentPartnering with Operations to reduce preventable accidents and operational riskLeading accident investigations and organizational root cause analysisUtilizing data, various technologies, telematics, and safety analytics to improve performanceDeveloping executive dashboards and performance reportingCoaching operational leaders to strengthen safety accountabilityLeading and developing a high-performing Safety teamServing as the Company's primary advisor on transportation safety and compliance mattersWe're Looking for Someone Who...Leads through influence rather than enforcement.Believes the best safety cultures are built through coaching, accountability, and partnership.Understands both the operational and regulatory sides of trucking.Is comfortable working directly with executive leadership.Uses data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.Builds trust with drivers, managers, and frontline employees.Sees safety as a business advantage—not simply a compliance requirement.Travels as needed to implement solutions and support growthQualified candidates will possess:Four or more years of progressive leadership experience in transportation safety, regulatory compliance, fleet operations, or risk management.Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.Experience leading accident investigations, regulatory audits, and enterprise safety initiatives.Experience leading and developing professional teams.Strong communication, analytical, and executive presentation skills.Experience within LTL or truckload transportation preferred not required.Working knowledge of transportation technology, telematics, ELD platforms, and safety management systems.Professional safety certifications such as CSP, CDS, or CTSC are valued.What Success Looks LikeDuring your first several months, you'll have the opportunity to:Strengthen the Company's safety culture across all operations.Improve operational safety performance through coaching and partnership.Enhance regulatory readiness and compliance processes.Develop meaningful executive performance metrics.Build collaborative relationships across departments.Position Safety as a strategic partner supporting operational excellence and long-term growth.What We OfferWe take care of our people the way they take care of our customers.
