The Role
We're seeking an Environmental Compliance Project Manager with 3-5 years of industry experience to join our growing team in our Pleasanton, CA office. The ideal candidate will have experience in air permitting and consulting This role bridges technical expertise with strong project management skills with a focus on developing leadership capabilities, allowing you to both lead projects and contribute to our company's growth. You'll manage key client relationships, oversee compliance initiatives, and serve as a technical mentor to EHS Specialists while working alongside senior leadership to develop service offerings.
What You'll Do
- Manage EHS projects for our clients providing exceptional client service while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Lead air permitting and compliance projects with BAAQMD, SCAQMD and other air districts in California
- Prepare reports for our clients to follow guidance and regulations designed by EPA, DTSC, local CUPAs, Fire departments, Water boards and other federal, state and local government agencies
- Assist with permitting requirements and documentation (air quality, wastewater, Tiered Permitting, storm water, etc.)
- Mentor CDMS staff on air permitting projects
- Conducting training for employees of client companies
- Conducting monitoring (air monitoring, soil sampling, etc.)
- Conducting compliance audits
- Providing ongoing compliance support to clients
- Providing various other support activities to clients to assist with their compliance efforts
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental consulting or related industry
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (Master's degree a plus)
- Strong knowledge of California EH&S regulations including air quality, hazardous materials/waste, stormwater and wastewater and health & safety compliance with expertise in at least one field
- Strong experience in environmental consulting with a focus on air permitting
- Professional certifications (PE, CPP, PG, CHMM etc.) highly valued
- Strategic thinking abilities with a talent for anticipating client needs and regulatory trends
- Excellent project management skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to clients
- Comfortable conducting trainings for groups of 10-40 people
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and environmental compliance software
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively
