What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevOps Engineer position at CDM Technology?
Hello- We have client looking to bring on a stopgap part time DevOps resource (Azure) until the end of the year. This could turn into an FTE role also if the candidate had interest. If you are available for ~20 hrs./week and available during the M-F workweek remotely. If you have 2 years and experience with some/most of the following let's chat.

Core DevOps & Azure Platform (Debugging workflows for Software Team)
- Azure DevOps (Azure Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Test Plans)
- YAML pipeline authoring (multi-stage CI/CD, templates, variables, approvals & gates)
- Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure Portal automation
- Git workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, GitVersion, protected branches)
Containers & Orchestration (Debugging AKS Clusters)
- Docker DockerFile for image generation
- Azure Container Registry
- Kubernetes (Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress)
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster deployment and management
- kubectl, kustomize, Helm chart usage
Cloud Resources (Familiarity with Azure)
- Azure resource fundamentals (Resource Groups, VNet, Subnets, NSG, RBAC, Managed Identity)
Scripting & Automation (Implement PoC when trying new ideas)
- Bash/Linux shell scripting
- Python (basic scripting, Azure SDK usage)
Monitoring, Logging & Observability (Assisting SRE as fallback)
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspace, Application Insights
- Container insights for AKS
- Prometheus & Grafana basics (preferred for Kubernetes-heavy roles)
Other Skills (Basic Skills)
- Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in sprints
- Understanding of CI/CD best practices
- Basic networking and security concepts in Azure (NSGs, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints)
