OVERVIEW
We are seeking a driven, highly organized Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. This role is a blended position combining responsibilities of a receiving clerk, and shipping clerk. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing daily receiving operations, ensuring accuracy in inventory handling, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency.
This is a hands-on, physically active position requiring strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Match shipment paperwork with carrier pickups and deliveries
- Check in carriers upon arrival and verify proper credentials before loading/unloading
- Assist with receiving inbound shipments, including inspecting, counting, and entering inventory accurately and in a timely manner which may also involve restacking pallets as needed
- Apply receiving labels and ensure products are properly identified and staged
- Move received returns to the designated returns processing area in a timely and organized manner
- Assist with preparing outbound shipments, including staging, verifying orders and supporting trailer readiness
- Process small parcel shipments (UPS/FedEx) manually when required
- Ensure drivers sign in and out according to facility procedures
- Support daily activity on the shipping and receiving dock to maintain safe and efficient operations
- Load and unload trailers while following established procedures for accuracy and safety
- Move, pull, stage, wrap, and consolidate pallets as needed
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with training
- Perform daily equipment checks and report any issues to a supervisor
- Inspect products for damage, accuracy, and compliance, including checking batch codes and expiration dates
- Ensure all items are properly labeled and placed in designated locations
- Report any damages, shortages, or inventory discrepancies to a supervisor promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate clearly with leads and supervisors regarding issues, questions, or needed support
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to support daily operations
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed, including general labor tasks
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience working on a shipping and receiving dock (loading/unloading, checking in freight, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
- Ability to read and interpret documentation, labels, and written instructions in English
- Basic computer systems (including Microsoft Office)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active (standing, walking, bending) for extended periods
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a high-volume environment
- Dependable attendance and strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The role is physically demanding and performed in a warehouse environment; all OSHA safety standards must be followed
