Job description
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for managing, documenting, and driving corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities across the organization. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, ensures timely resolution of non-conformances, and maintains compliance with applicable quality standards. The Quality Assurance Specialist works cross-functionally to identify root causes, implement effective solutions, and support internal and external audit readiness.
Duties to include:
Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and internal quality issues to determine root cause
Develop, document, and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans
Track CAPA activities to ensure timely completion and effectiveness verification
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements
Maintain accurate CAPA records and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable quality standards
Prepare reports and metrics for management review
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responses
• Assist in maintaining quality procedures, work instructions, and recordsIdentify trends and recurring issues to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in quality system reviews and improvement projects
• Undertake additional duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
2 years of experience in quality assurance or manufacturing environment
Strong writing, documentation, and organizing skills
Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
Familiarity with CAPA processes and quality management systems
Experience with ISO or AS quality standards
Proficiency with ERP systems or quality management software preferred
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred: Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
Compensation: $24-26/hour commensurate with education and experience
