Xcite Automotive is now seeking an Automotive Detail Shop Assistant Manager for our partner dealers in Owings Mills, MD!
Job Description: In this role, you will partner with the Shop Manager to oversee daily shop operations, lead a team of skilled detailers, and ensure every vehicle meets our high-quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, technical knowledge of detailing, and the ability to motivate and mentor a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising and coaching detail shop employees.
- Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and shift coverage.
- Perform hands-on automotive detailing as needed to support workflow.
- Ensure all vehicles meet dealership-ready quality standards before delivery.
- Maintain inventory of detailing products, chemicals, and equipment.
- Monitor and enforce safety procedures, company policies, and quality control.
- Collaborate with dealership managers and internal teams to meet production goals.
- Identify process improvements to increase shop efficiency and turnaround time.
Minimum Qualifications / Must-Haves
- 2 years of professional automotive detailing experience (interior and exterior).
- Prior supervisory, lead, or assistant manager experience in a shop, dealership, or reconditioning environment.
- Strong knowledge of detailing products, tools, and safety practices.
- Reliable transportation and full-time availability, including weekends if needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support a dealership workflow.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications / Nice-to-Haves
- Experience as an Assistant Manager, or Lead Detailer.
- Background in dealership operations or reconditioning services.
- Ability to train and mentor detailers on best practices and quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
