CDL Nuclear has provided advanced imaging services to more than 850 healthcare facilities since 1992.Job Type: Manager: Part-time/HourlyJob Location: Outpatient Cardiology Practice in Amityville, NY 11701What will you do as a Radiologic TechnologistBasic Function: To perform all aspects of CT imaging for attenuation incorporated as part of the Cardiac PET-CT. This to include but is not limited to patient care, physician interaction/communication, flexibility in working hours and locations, independently performs the CT portion of the Cardiac PET-CT studies that meet or exceed the standards set by the interpreting physician (s), ensures proper radiation dose to patient and to obtain quality exam, prepares equipment and room for exams, interviews and assesses patient for Cardiac PET-CT exam, obtains detailed patient history to aid the physician in making a diagnosis, obtains procedure consent, verifies that orders are received and with the indication for the exam, completes all paperwork at the end of each workday. Prepares reports, maintains inventory, and performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required:AA Degree is required. Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent job experience required necessary to pass the ARRT (R). Minimum of six (6) months as a practicing Certified Radiologic Technologist required. Must have and maintain NY State Certified Radiologic Technologist License. Must demonstrate the ability to work in facilities with high patient volumes requiring completion of daily tasks at the end of each workday.BLS certification.ARRT (R)Must be able to independently and effectively communicate with patients, office staff, and physicians.Must be readily adaptable to changes involving patient care, staffing, conflict, and emergencies. Preferred:Cardiology experience.Anatomy and medical terminologyUnderstanding of all procedures to be read by physician.Knowledge of requirement for the CT attenuation acquisition during the PET-CT study.License/Certification: ARRT Certification (R) (Required) BLS Certification (Required)Critical Performance Skill:Decisiveness, Spoken Communications, Assertiveness, Commitment to Task, Organization and Planning, Creativity, Team Building, Decision Making and Problem Solving, LeadershipWorking Conditions:Manual dexterity is required to adjust machine controls, arrange, attach, and adjust supportive devices. Ability to obtain satisfactory results by following set procedures and standards. Ability to contact patients who are under physical and/or emotional stress, in order to properly position and take test. Medium strength is required to position patients for examination or treatment. May lift patients or assist in lifting patients on and off examination table. Prolonged standing required most of the time. Some pushing, pulling, reaching, etc. required during work period. Travels between and works at multiple job sites. Electrical, magnetic, and ionizing radiation hazards are present.
