Pay and Benefits
- Average yearly earnings: 86000 – 95000
- Pay rate: 0.64 – 0.69 CPM
- Live stop pay: 65 per stop (avg 3 per week)
- Drop and hook: 35 per event (avg 5 per week)
- Hazmat load: 25 per load (avg 2 per week; 95% non?placarded)
- Detention: 15/hr first hour, 20/hr after
- Extra stop pay: 15/hr
- Breakdown: 75 per day
- Rail delay: 15/hr after 1 hour
- 5000 sign on bonus (restrictions apply)
- Holiday pay: 190 per day after one year
Home Time and Schedule
- Weekly home time with a minimum 34?hour reset
- Drivers may choose days off: Tues–Wed, Wed–Thurs, Thurs–Fri, Fri–Sat, or Sun–Mon
- Sat–Sun off requires leadership approval
- Driver selects start time (must remain consistent)
Position Details
- Operates between Detroit market and Chicago rail yards
- 13 rail ramps (6 major ramps)
- 70% drop and hook, 30% live load/unload
- All freight on intermodal containers
- Loads preplanned in advance for smooth routing
- Hazmat required within 90 days (reimbursed)
- Training: driver stays with trainer unless opposite sex
- Automatics, mid?roof tractors (avg age 1 yr 10 mo)
- No touch freight
- Drivers may take the truck home for time off
- On?site management and toll pass included
