Position Overview
Local Intermodal daycab position running containers in and out of Chicago rail yards. Drivers operate in IL and WI, running daily to Chicago ramps. This is a slip seat position, and tractors stay at the yard for time off. All freight is no touch.

Position Overview

Hazmat must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Pay and Bonus
- Mileage pay: 0.48 to 0.55
- New drivers start at 0.48 CPM with a yearly 0.01 CPM increase up to 0.55
- 10,000 bonus
- All hub miles paid loaded and empty
- Live load: 65 dollars
- Drop and hook: 40 dollars
- Hazmat load: 25 dollars
- Refrigerated load: 30 dollars
- Empty move: 15 dollars
- Crosstown drop: 23 to 55 dollars depending on ramp distance
- Rail delay: 20 dollars per hour after 1 hour
- Additional delay: 20 dollars per hour after 1.5 hours, then 25 dollars per hour after the first hour
- Training after orientation: 5 full days at 250 dollars per day
- Yearly average: 75,000
Schedule
- Tues through Sat
- Start time: 0200
- Holiday schedule: Thanksgiving and Christmas not guaranteed off, but most drivers will be
- Holiday pay available after 90 days
Requirements and Equipment
- Minimum 3 months of CDL A experience
- Hazmat required within 90 days
- No smoking in the truck
- Slip seat operation
- Day cab with 53-foot box trailer
PTO and Holidays
- 18 paid days in year one (12 PTO and 6 holidays)
- 22 paid days for years 1 to 5
- 27 paid days for years 6 to 13
- 30 paid days for years 14 to 18
- 32 paid days for 19 years
