The Trackside Utility Manager Coordinator (TUMC) plays a vital role in
CDL\'s Trackside Utility Management/Coordinator service. This position
ensures the successful execution of utility management projects with a
focus on safety, compliance and precision. The ideal candidate will have
a strong foundation in utility installation, a proactive mindset for
problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining CDL\'s reputation for
excellence through demonstrating our \"Be the Bar\' philosophy- Balance,
Accountability and Resilience. The TUMC ensures the safety of personnel
and equipment working on or near active railroad tracks. This role
involves implementing and maintaining strict adherence to railroad
safety protocols and operating rules to protect workers, prevent
disruptions to rail traffic, and safeguard the public. Key attributes
for success include: high attention to detail and accuracy in fieldwork
and reporting, ability to adapt to dynamic field conditions while
maintaining safety and efficiency, strong interpersonal skills to
collaborate with team members, contractors and stakeholders, a proactive
approach to identifying and resolving project challenges and the ability
to independently and in various weather conditions. TUMCs often travel
extensively and may work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
to support projects at different railroad locations.
