Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction on commercial driving principles, safety protocols, and industry regulations, including topics such as tanker operations, air brake systems, manual transmissions, and tractor-trailer handling.
- Conduct hands-on behind-the-wheel training with students in various vehicle configurations, emphasizing safe driving techniques and proper vehicle maintenance.
- Assess student progress through evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Ensure all training activities comply with federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance assessments, and certification progress.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions, active participation, and professional growth.
Experience
- At least 2 years of proven experience in commercial truck driving with a strong understanding of tractor-trailer operations and industry standards.
- Basic knowledge of CDL licensing requirements, including tanker endorsements and air brake certifications.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmissions and various truck configurations such as tractor-trailers is essential.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements; prior commercial driving instruction experience is a plus.
