Company: CDK Construction
Position Type: Full-time

About Us
At CDK Construction, we specialize in delivering high-quality building envelope and fenestration solutions for multi-family and
commercial projects. With a track record of excellence across the Pacific Northwest, we focus on innovative, sustainable, and
cost-effective solutions that meet and exceed our clients' expectations. Our projects span a wide range of complex systems,
including cladding, waterproofing, window and door installations, and facade upgrades. As we continue to expand, we're
seeking a Construction Superintendent with experience leading building envelope and exterior renovation projects. If you're
passionate about safe execution, quality workmanship, field leadership, and solving complex construction challenges, we'd love
to meet you.
Core Responsibilities
- Field Leadership: Direct daily jobsite operations and coordinate employees, subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries,
inspections, and site logistics to maintain a safe and productive workflow.
- Safety Leadership: Establish and maintain a proactive safety culture; implement and enforce CDK safety policies, Site-
Specific Safety Plans, OSHA requirements, fall-protection requirements, and project-specific procedures.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain short-interval and look-ahead schedules, coordinate trade sequencing, identify
schedule risks early, and work with the Project Manager to keep the overall project timeline on track.
- Labor Resource Management: Forecast manpower needs, plan daily and weekly labor allocation, monitor productivity
against labor budgets, and communicate resource requirements before they affect schedule or cost.
- Quality Control: Inspect work in progress, verify installations comply with contract documents, manufacturer requirements,
approved details, and CDK standards, and promptly correct deficiencies.
- Technical Expertise: Oversee cladding, waterproofing, air and weather barriers, flashing, windows, doors, sealants, deck
systems, roofing interfaces, and other building envelope assemblies and transitions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, manpower records, inspection documentation, delivery
records, delay notices, and other project records in Procore or applicable systems.
- Budget and Cost Awareness: Track labor performance, minimize rework, protect materials, identify cost-saving
opportunities, and support the Project Manager in maintaining project profitability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate professionally with owners, residents, architects, engineers, inspectors,
subcontractors, and internal project teams while maintaining alignment and accountability.
- Project Completion: Lead punch-list completion, coordinate final inspections, support closeout documentation, and deliver
a finished project that reflects CDK's standards for safety, quality, and integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of superintendent, assistant superintendent, or comparable field-leadership experience in
commercial or multi-family construction. Building envelope restoration and occupied renovation experience are strongly
preferred.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is helpful but not required. We
value character, field experience, leadership ability, and a demonstrated growth mindset more than formal education alone.
- Safety Training & Knowledge:
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required, or the ability to obtain it within an established period
following hire.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards, fall protection, scaffolding, ladders, aerial lifts, personal
protective equipment, hazard communication, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks, pre-task planning, jobsite inspections, incident documentation, and corrective-action
follow-through.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems, sequencing, materials, interfaces, and fenestration detailing.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and manufacturer installation
requirements.
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling, labor tracking, quality-control documentation, and applicable building
codes and inspection requirements.
- Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Project
- Familiarity: Bluebeam or similar construction-management software.
Soft Skills & Personality Traits
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: You plan ahead, maintain accurate records, and recognize that small installation details can
determine the long-term performance of a building envelope.
- Calm & Decisive: You remain composed under pressure, make timely decisions, and address difficult issues directly
without creating unnecessary conflict.
- Collaborative Leader: You set clear expectations, hold people accountable, and build productive relationships with
employees, subcontractors, clients, consultants, and project managers.
- Problem Solver: You anticipate challenges, evaluate practical solutions, and act before field conditions become schedule,
cost, safety, or quality problems.
- Adaptable & Hands-On: You can adjust to changing project conditions and are willing to step into the work when needed
while remaining focused on leading the overall site.
Personality Assessments
- DISC Profile: Ideal candidates often demonstrate a combination of High C (Conscientiousness), High S (Steadiness), and
moderate D (Dominance). You are systematic and quality-focused, steady under pressure, and willing to make decisions
and hold others accountable.
- Myers-Briggs: Successful candidates may align with profiles such as ISTJ, ESTJ, or INTJ - individuals who value planning,
responsibility, practical problem-solving, and consistent execution. Personality type is not a hiring requirement; character,
self-awareness, and leadership maturity are more important.
What We're Looking For
A qualified superintendent takes ownership of the jobsite and understands that field leadership is about more than directing
work. You lead by example, plan ahead, communicate clearly, and care deeply about safety, quality, schedule, and the people
performing the work. You address unsafe conditions immediately and understand that production pressure never overrides safe
execution. Integrity, accountability, humility, and dedication to craftsmanship are essential values in this role.
Why CDK Construction?
At CDK Construction, you'll be part of a team that values safety, trust, integrity, quality, and growth. Our commitment to strong
project delivery and professional development gives field leaders the opportunity to take on challenging work, strengthen their
technical expertise, and build a meaningful long-term career. As a trusted contractor in the Seattle construction industry, CDK
