Job Summary
Incumbents provide security monitoring, system evaluation, hardware distribution, and safety compliance support. Incumbents are also responsible for building & ground upkeep, maintenance, and repair. Responsibilities may include ensuring security procedures and systems; evaluating & installing monitoring hardware and software for full security support; processing and distributing security access badges, as well as reviewing monitors; running standard reports, reviewing and confirming maintenance and janitorial ticket submissions; providing routine customer service; entering data; sorting and delivering documents; and operating standard office equipment; monitoring public and private areas; ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations in accordance with CDE Lightband policy and practice, as well as all APPA and OSHA laws and regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees CDE Lightband Security system coordination for all office and substation locations, working with the Safety team and others as needed. Monitors and maintains all hardware and software for full security support; processes and distributes all security access badges; reviews all security monitors and physically and visibly ensures the safety and security of the location. This includes the lobby area, parking lots, and employee-only areas, including behind secured utility fencing parking and secured access.
- Provide a source of communication to the entire workforce, including onsite customers and vendors, during any certain or perceived threat of emergency.
- Directly supports the Safety Manager and works with Safety Attendants for off-hour security needs, capacity and crowd management within the lobby or other customer-supporting or public areas, and overall routine needs for a safe and secure customer experience.
- Perform maintenance for facility improvement with skilled work for efficiency, including, but not limited to, maintenance and repair; light electrical and light plumbing issues; maintenance of heavy customer areas and outside trash removal; emergency cleanup as needed; and other duties of a similar nature.
- Performs and assists specific projects as needed per request or needs.
- Working with the Safety Manager to ensure compliance with all CDE Lightband Safety rules and regulations, as well as all APPA and OSHA regulations.
- Direct and assist others during emergencies and/or other potentially confrontational situations. Must maintain composure during stressful or potentially agitated times, reliable, predictable, dependable work product, and fair and just treatment of all customers and employees.
- Prepares, reviews, and/or processes a variety of routine correspondence, logs, information, and paperwork; keys information into applicable spreadsheets and/or databases; and files documents by prescribed methods in established filing systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned of a similar nature or to provide assistance as needed
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience
1-2 years' experience in Law Enforcement or Security is highly preferred, as is previous experience with facility maintenance, security systems, and monitoring. Experience in electrician or plumbing duties is also preferred but not required.
Certifications & Licenses
CPR/AED or ability to obtain upon hire

Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is also considered

Working Conditions
- Requires constant indoor and outdoor work with potential for extreme outdoor temperatures
