What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Engagement Specialist position at CDCenters?
Summary:
Engage with families to build authentic relationships that will develop into partnerships that promote trust and respectful, ongoing two-way communication. These partnerships support family well-being and help families meet established goals for themselves and their children. This is a 7-hour shift, plus a 30-minute lunch break from 9:00am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct and document monthly home visits and collaborate with families to create Family Partnership Agreements and goal plans.
- Complete and document seasonal Family Outcomes Assessments and track family goals to support program reporting requirements.
- Connect families with community resources that support family stability and child development.
- Communicate regularly with families about their child’s attendance and follow up on unexplained absences when needed.
- Facilitate bi-monthly Parent Committee meetings and support family participation in programs such as ReadyRosie.
- Work collaboratively with the Center Director, teachers, and other staff, including participating in classroom visits and team meetings.
- Build relationships with families and develop community partnerships to support recruitment and enrollment in the Head Start program.
- Participate in recruitment activities and assist with enrolling new families and re-enrolling current families to maintain required enrollment levels.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work (or related field).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children.
- May require travel to other centers within the county.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to record, convey, and present information, explain procedures and follow directions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the workday with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and grasping as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
- Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of children up to 30 pounds and objects up to 50 pounds.
