What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Engagement Specialist I position at CDC FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
PURPOSE: Be an Exemplary Service Provider consistently exhibiting CDC FCU’s Core Values and remembering: Members First. Assist members with their financial needs, performing a variety of duties that support branch operations. Consults with members and provide solutions to match their needs. Contribute to the achievement of CDC Federal Credit Union’s Strategic Goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively engage in taking genuine interest in each member’s relationship with CDC FCU to gain membership trust throughout their financial life stages.
- Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs. Build relationships by asking probing questions, providing customized solutions, insights and education to prospects and members alike. Maintain current knowledge of all products and financial services offered by the credit union. Attain sales and referral goals on a monthly and annual basis.
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments and other transactions. Assist member with service center transactions. Perform all transactions along with end of day procedures with high degree of accuracy and in accordance with established credit union policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
- Assist members with opening and closing accounts. Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties related to service & maintenance to memberships and accounts. Troubleshoot/ research member inquiries seeking assistance from other colleagues / departments when warranted.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
- Work with Sr. Member Engagement Specialist on special projects as assigned
- Be open to improvement and performance feedback
- Initiate continuous learning/development through internal/external sources
- Meet with Member Engagement Manger, Retail to set goals for career growth
- Cross-train in other job-related responsibilities within the credit union
- Actively participate in internal and external training as required
MISCELLANEOUS
- Understand, and adhere to all security guidelines, credit union policies/procedures, moral and ethical principles, and regulatory compliance requirements, i.e., BSA, OFAC, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to non-public information about our members and CDC FCU
- Recommend process changes for service quality improvement
- Assist Team Members during instances when out of balance
- Serve in the capacity of dual control when needed
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High School diploma; some college preferred
- One to two years of sales experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a financial institution
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong member-service orientation; excellent listening skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Computer proficiency; ability to learn/adapt to branch technologies and operations
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability and flexibility to respond in a fast paced and changing environment
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with CDC FCU’s dress code
- Bondable and have no felony convictions
