Precast Outdoor Mobile Mechanic

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic with strong hydraulic system experience to join our team. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery in the field. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, highly dependable, and able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions year-round.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and control systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Respond to field service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Accurately document repairs, parts used, and labor time
• Maintain organized tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Stand/walk – frequently – the combination of standing and walking up to a 10-hour shift
• Bend/stoop/twist – occasionally – in labor positions
• Repetitive use of hands
• Grasping tools – frequently
• Reach/push/pull – frequently - moving materials
• Lift/carry - up to 50 pounds – occasionally
• Good vision and hearing
• Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Comprehend detailed instructions, written or oral, and plan steps to carry out essential functions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Minimum 2-5 years of diesel mechanic experience
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems (required)
• Experience with heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks, etc.) preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and hydraulic schematics
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile environment
  • Must have own professional-grade tools
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
