The HVAC Apprentice supports lead technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is hands-on and requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow direction. The goal is to develop the skills needed to become a qualified HVAC technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of HVAC systems (residential and/or commercial)
- Support troubleshooting and repair work under supervision
- Help with preventive maintenance and service calls
- Carry tools, materials, and maintain a clean, organized job site
- Follow instructions from lead technicians and supervisors
- Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Assist with equipment startup and testing
- Maintain accurate work logs and documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Enrolled in or willing to enroll in an HVAC training program (preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
- Willingness to work in heat, cold, tight spaces, and heights
- Strong work ethic—shows up on time, ready to work
- Willing to learn and take direction without argument
