What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor- Veterinary Technology Program (Full-time, One Academic Year, Terminal Track) position at CCV - Instructor?
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University invites applications for a Full-Time Assistant Professor in our Veterinary Tech Program. We seek candidates with 3 years of clinical experience and prior teaching experience preferred. Prior knowledge of educational methodology (preferred) or willingness to complete required educational methodology assignments. Having the ability to endure considerable walking and standing while instructing/supervising students is necessary. The successful candidate would start in August 2025 for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, and work on our Williston campus.
Responsibilities:
Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. In-person didactic courses, with multiple laboratory courses. Classes and/or disciplines expected to teach include surgical assistance, anesthesia, dentistry veterinary parasitology, microbiology, pharmacology and toxicology and others as needed. This work will be done in the veterinary technology department on the Randolph campus. Other duties as assigned are anticipated and expected. Committee service and academic advising are expected. Qualified candidates will be offered a one-year terminal contract, renewable for up to three years based on the individual's years of full-time experience and years of full-time teaching in an accredited veterinary technology program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s Degree (Preferably in education) or DVM.
• Previous clinical experience in veterinary technology/veterinary medicine.
• Teaching or instructor experience in secondary school or college is strongly preferred.
• An active, unencumbered DVM or Vermont CVT (or equivalent) license or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license is required.
• Veterinary technician applicants must be a graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• The successful candidate must be committed to excellence, scholarship and innovation in undergraduate teaching, to ongoing professional development, and to working closely with our veterinary technology students.
Salary:
Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
