What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Professional Services position at CCS?
Own a P&L. Build a national practice. Lead through the moments that matter most.
CCS is looking for a Director of Professional Services to run our Professional Services division as its own business, complete with the people, the delivery outcomes, and the full P&L. This isn't a project management role. It's a leadership seat with real financial ownership, four practice areas reporting up to you, and a mandate to build one national standard of execution across every market we serve.
If you've run a services P&L, led incident response under real pressure, and know what it takes to scale a consulting practice from bespoke to repeatable, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Own
The Business You'll own revenue, gross profit, and contribution for the entire Professional Services division, along with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance against plan. You'll be the one who catches scope creep and margin leakage before it hits close-out, not after.
The Portfolio Four practices report to you: the PMO, project engineering and consulting, security incident response and remediation, and an advisory/assessment practice. Your job is to make them operate as one integrated capability. When a breach hits, a client should get a project manager, a remediation engineer, and a post-incident assessment from the same organization, with no handoffs and no seams.
Incident Response You'll own the remediation practice for security and breach events, from mobilization through closure, working hand-in-hand with the SOC. You'll build the commercial model for retainers, surge staffing, and after-hours response, so incident work never destabilizes the rest of the portfolio.
Growth and Scale You'll turn the assessment practice into a repeatable, productized offering instead of one-off effort priced deal by deal, and you'll position those assessments as the front door to remediation projects and long-term managed services relationships.
The People You'll select, develop, and retain a team across five regional markets, unifying legacy regional practices into a single national standard, and building the career paths that keep strong talent growing with CCS.
What You Bring
- 10 years in IT professional services delivery, with 5 years leading delivery organizations at a management or director level
- Direct, demonstrated ownership of a services P&L, not just delivery accountability
- Experience managing a multi-project portfolio across a geographically distributed organization
- Command of PMI practices, work breakdown structures, level-of-effort estimating, and both cost-plus and value-based pricing models
- Technical depth across IT infrastructure (networking, data center, virtualization, cloud migration, unified communications, endpoints, and the Microsoft stack) sufficient to challenge an estimate and settle a technical dispute
- Working knowledge of security incident response, including containment, remediation, evidence handling, and client communication during an active breach
- Experience building or scaling a consulting or assessment practice into a repeatable commercial offering
- Executive-level communication skills, including the ability to deliver hard news with candor and tact
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Willingness to travel up to 25% across our regional markets
Nice to have: PMP certification, a Master's degree, familiarity with Lean or similar continuous-improvement methods, and experience integrating delivery organizations after an acquisition.
How Success Is Measured
- Project margin and revenue realization against contracted and forecast value
- Utilization and billable capacity across the engineering, consulting, and PM bench
- On-time, on-budget delivery and client satisfaction across the portfolio
Why CCS
You'll be joining a growing IT services company with real momentum, where this role carries genuine P&L ownership rather than a dotted line to it. You'll shape how professional services works nationally, build something repeatable out of practices that have grown up differently market by market, and do it with the backing of leadership that wants this division run like a business.
