Job Description: Azure Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Washington, DC (L'Enfant Plaza)
Clearance: Active Top Secret (Required)
Contract: 5 Years (Fully Onsite)
Rate: $65/hr
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support a long-term, onsite federal program in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure design, containerization, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to work full-time onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Provision and configure Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity components.
- Automate deployments using Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployment and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues involving networking, security, containers, and compute resources.
- Maintain governance, compliance, and best practices across all Azure environments.
- Create documentation and provide training on Azure processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance (must be valid at the time of application)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8 years of IT infrastructure or cloud engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Azure (VMs, networking, storage, identity)
- Terraform / Ansible (IaC)
- Docker / Kubernetes (containerization)
- Azure DevOps and automated deployment pipelines
- Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and networking
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Certifications
The following Microsoft certifications are highly preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
