SUMMARY:

• The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Pottsgrove School District is $19/hour
• The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year
• Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills
  
  

CURRENT NEEDS:

• Pottsgrove Senior High School: Job Coach - 7:00am-2:30pm (6.5 paid hours per day on full school day)
• Pottsgrove Middle School: 7:45am - 3:25pm (6.5 paid hours per day on full school day)
  
  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide assistance to students with special needs who have IEPs or 504 plans
• Reinforcing learning concepts and skills
• Working with students individually or in small groups
• Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
• Managing students behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment
• Supervising students during lunch, arrivals/dismissals, and other non-instructional areas
• Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal
  
  

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR
• Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree
• Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
  
  

CREDENTIALING :

• CCRES paid clearances and TB
  
  

(Clearances current within 12 months)

• PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
• PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
• PA Department of Education FBI
• TB Screening - current within 3 months
• Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
