This is a full-time, on-site role based in West Sacramento, CA, for a Staff Attorney specializing in Labor & Employment Law with a focus on Public Safety. The Staff Attorney will provide legal advice and counsel on labor and employment matters, conduct legal research, prepare and review legal documents, and represent CCPOA members in negotiations and disputes. Additional responsibilities may include preparing legal strategies, conducting training, and maintaining thorough documentation of case matters.
- Strong expertise in Law and Labor & Employment Law, with emphasis on public safety personnel and workplace regulations
- Proven ability to provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel in labor relations and employment matters
- Proficient skills in conducting legal research and analyzing complex case information
- Demonstrated negotiation skills, with experience in disputes, settlements, or collective bargaining agreements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and membership in the California State Bar
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate with peers in a high-paced environment
- Relevant experience in public safety or union representation is a plus
