Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing each order from purchase order receipt through production and final quality control. In our small, fast-paced environment, adaptability and teamwork are essential. This role involves producing and revising drawing files for all active projects, making CAD or drafting skills essential. The Project Manager must be able to interpret and work from blueprints. This position handles multiple projects at once and collaborates closely with both production and office staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Design/Production Tasks
- Be a team player, helping Sales, Production, Office and Purchasing to meet production goals.
- Create from PO sales orders, update drawing specifications, oversee first stage of order entry, create, produce, correct and revise electronic drawing files as required for all projects that are assigned
- Oversee levels of inventory items kept as stock. – weekly update spreadsheet.
- Draw cut file and paper space iso view if needed for orders and create CAD drawings for customer approval. Maintain and update drawings as needed.
- Convert hand drawn to CAD, maintain complete drawings for all projects and double check all dimensions. Asking questions if more details are needed.
- Maintain digital and print drawing files for all work including medical product files. Update production instruction for training and as instruction in the project packages.
- Lead the material selection process prior to production.
- Ensure all project details, drawings, and materials are clear and ready before products enter production.
- Problem solve and remove road blocks for production.
Operations & Production Coordination
- Process and track all incoming orders; maintain accurate production schedules.
- Prepare all required production details and specifications.
- Monitor inventory levels; coordinate restocking and material purchasing.
- Communicate with vendors regarding purchasing needs, pricing updates, and shipping requirements.
- Ensure orders move through production accurately and on time.
Customer Service Tasks
- Handle customer interactions, including responding to requests for sales quotes and clarifying design details as needed.
- Perform estimating for new projects and custom orders.
- Conduct onsite visits (approximately once per month) to measure and design products based on customer needs and equipment specifications.
- Participate in prototyping and new product development efforts to improve existing product lines and introduce new solutions.
● Work both at your desk and in production areas—this role requires being up and active approximately 50% of the time.
● Adapt to shifting priorities and assist across departments as needed; this is not a single-focus position.
