Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ substance use history, mental health status, and treatment needs to develop personalized care plans.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions that promote understanding, accountability, and motivation for change.
• Educate clients about the effects of substance abuse, relapse prevention strategies, and available resources for ongoing support.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, family members, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all counseling sessions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with confidentiality standards.
• Support clients in developing life skills and coping mechanisms that reinforce their recovery journey.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of addiction theories, treatment modalities, and recovery processes.
• Excellent active listening skills combined with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and empathetically.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Proficiency in documenting client interactions accurately using electronic health records or other documentation tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC or equivalent) is required; relevant experience is highly valued.

Pay: $22.86 - $27.00 per hour
