Director – Investment Strategy
The Director - Investment Strategy plays a crucial role in providing investment expertise in support of our client advisory teams. This individual will play a key role in communicating investment strategy, portfolio construction support, and general investment advice to client advisors in support of client portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in public and private markets and be able to clearly articulate investment strategies to internal teams and clients.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Investment Strategy and Oversight
- Communicate investment strategy along with strategic and tactical asset allocation across client portfolios
- Support consistency in portfolio construction methodologies and client advisor adherence to Investment Policy Statements (IPS)
- Stay abreast of market, macroeconomic, and geopolitical developments and their potential impact on investment team guidance to client advisors
2. Portfolio Management and Advisor Support
- Support client advisors with complex multi-asset portfolios, incorporating both public and private investment solutions
- Partner with client advisors to develop bespoke portfolio strategies tailored to client objectives and constraints
- Support investment proposals, client communications, and special projects for high-net-worth and institutional clients
- Join advisors in select client meetings
3. Research, Due Diligence, and Product Development
- Understand all due diligence efforts on third-party managers, alternative investments, and new strategies
- Collaborate with research team to ensure clear investment insights and thematic market commentary
- Identify opportunities to enhance the firm’s investment platform
- Participate in all investment team planning and communications
4. Thought Leadership and Client Engagement
- Represent the firm’s investment philosophy in client meetings and marketing efforts
- Deliver presentations and white papers to support business development and deepen client relationships
- Train and mentor junior investment team members and client-facing professionals on investment best practices

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CAIA strongly preferred
- 7-15 years of experience in investment strategy, portfolio management, or institutional consulting
- Licenses including series 65
- Demonstrated expertise across multiple asset classes, including traditional and alternative investments
- Strong understanding of asset allocation, risk management, and capital market assumptions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience working within or supporting an RIA, multi-family office, or wealth management platform
- Collaborative style with proven experience successfully building and cultivating relationships.
- Established relationships with external vendors and service partners.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 including SharePoint and Power BI, Salesforce, Addepar, and other applications.
- High degree of professionalism and ability to perform successfully in a service-oriented, fast-paced, high-growth and frequently changing environment and aligned with Cresset’s values and culture

Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location.
