What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Custodian position at CCL Label Inc.?
Department Purpose:
To support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment by performing routine and specialized cleaning duties that ensure all areas of the facility are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety and sanitation standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
In priority order, with collaboration across departments as needed:
- Maintain Restrooms:
Ensure all restrooms across the facility are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies at all times. - Inventory Management:
Track and replenish cleaning and restroom supplies to prevent shortages and support uninterrupted operations. - Production Area Cleaning:
Sweep and clean plant floors to minimize dust, debris, and safety hazards, supporting production efficiency and compliance. - Ink Hopper Maintenance:
Collect used ink hoppers from production areas and dispose of waste ink safely, following all environmental and safety procedures. - Common Area Sanitation:
Clean and disinfect offices, locker rooms, break rooms, and designated smoking areas to maintain hygienic conditions for all personnel. - Waste Management:
Empty trash bins throughout the facility and safely operate compactors according to established safety procedures. - Outdoor Maintenance:
Keep facility entrances, sidewalks, and loading dock areas free of debris, ice, or obstructions to ensure safe access for employees and deliveries. - Equipment Operation:
Operate floor scrubbers and forklifts as required. Perform pre-use inspections and ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with safety protocols. - Additional Support:
Perform other housekeeping or facility-related duties as assigned by BCA Management to support production and operational goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Capable of extended periods of standing, walking, bending, pulling, and pushing in an industrial environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Experience operating forklifts and floor scrubbers preferred; forklift certification may be required.
- Basic literacy skills to understand safety procedures, labels, and written instructions.
Shift Availability: 6am - 2pm; 2pm - 10pm; 10pm - 6am
