JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate, facilitate, and deliver training programs for new and existing employees, including new hire orientation, annual training, safety, quality, GMP, and other required training.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training materials, work instructions, SOPs, and other training resources to support business and manufacturing objectives.
- Provide oversight of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, including monitoring training activities, conducting daily floor observations and spot checks, and ensuring consistent training practices.
- Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified on bindery equipment, processes, procedures, and applicable quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate cross-training initiatives to increase employee versatility, improve department coverage, and support operational needs.
- Monitor new hire and employee training progress, identify gaps, and coordinate coaching, retraining, or additional development as needed.
- Collaborate with Plant Leadership and department supervisors to identify and select qualified OJT trainers and ensure training is delivered effectively and consistently.
- Maintain accurate and timely training records, including data entry, course updates, system changes, completion tracking, and reporting within the training management system.
- Generate training reports and communicate training metrics, results, and areas of opportunity to appropriate leadership. Recommend and support improvements based on training data and trends.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, policies, SOPs, work instructions, and procedures, recommending changes to improve employee understanding and performance.
- Ensure training materials, facilitation, and documentation comply with company, quality, environmental, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support specialized training programs, including CPR, Train-the-Trainer, Lean Manufacturing, and other required department-specific training.
- Support audits by ensuring training records and documentation are complete, accurate, and readily available.
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to employees, supervisors, and leadership while promoting a positive learning environment.
- Maintain a consistent and effective new hire orientation program and ensure new employees receive required training within established timelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs, production requirements, and training priorities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve training effectiveness, standardization, productivity, quality, safety, and overall bindery operations.
- Partner with the HR and Manufacturing teams to ensure employees receive the training, resources, and support necessary to perform their jobs safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
JOB SUMMARY
The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, delivering, and tracking training programs for employees within the bindery department. This position ensures employees are properly trained on equipment operation, production processes, quality standards, safety procedures, GMP requirements, and company policies. The coordinator works closely with supervisors and department leadership to identify training needs, maintain accurate training records, and support employee development and cross-training initiatives. The position also supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying training opportunities, standardizing processes and work practices, and helping implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, efficiency, and overall bindery performance.
PAST EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
At least two (2) years of training experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree.
