What are the responsibilities and job description for the LNG Tank Inspector position at CCL Global?
Minimum experience required for the position:
1. 10 years of experience working on major oil & gas projects
2. Knowledge and experience of construction methods of full containment LNG tank construction which includes knowledge of carbon steel, aluminum, and 9% Ni plate erection and welding, roof construction, and hydrotesting.
3. Understanding specifications, vendor procedures, instructions & codes with working knowledge of API-650, API-620, API-625.
4. Knowledge of welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, SAW and the use of Automatic Girth Welders, Down Flat Tractors, and automated isolation machines.
5. Technical knowledge of LNG tank building equipment and tools.
6. Knowledge of requirements for cryogenic insulation (e.g., perlite).
7. Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
8. Read, write, and speak fluent English with strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities for the position:
1. Functionally assigned to Brownsville, TX
2. Ensure the EPC contractor and subcontractors deliver the project in accordance with the City of Brownsville & Company standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.
3. Oversee Quality Assurance inspections, testing and verification of LNG Tank construction, making sure EPC Contractor abides by codes and best industry standards
4. Monitor day-to-day activities, including inspection and test plans (ITP's) for LNG Tank, including all equipment associated connections.
5. Ensure welding processes (particularly for 9% Ni steel) are followed by contractual requirements, including oversight of personnel performing welding and testing.
6. Review and verify NDE tests and collaborate with all team members to resolve issues efficiently.
7. Verify installation of insulation, heat tracing, tensioning cables, deluge systems, etc. are performed to project specifications.
8. Interact with team members from all parties embracing the One Team approach.
9. Identify, report and help close out any issues identified
10. Review and understand integrated project specifications and standards.
11. Communicate and liaise with Next Decade, inspector, engineering / technical support personnel to resolve quality related issues.
12. Review contractor’s inspection / surveillance reports - provide feedback as necessary to assure compliance with specification requirements.
13. Advise and inform the Quality Manager of Quality issues, status, and metrics.
14. Promote Quality awareness throughout the project.
15. Issue, process, and track project NCR’s and CAR’s written against the Contractor’s quality program or processes. Verify resolutions are implemented in accordance with approved dispositions.
16. Monitor, investigate, identify, and resolve project quality issues.
17. Review selected inspection assignment packages developed by the Contractor for content and completeness. (correct drawings, data sheets and specifications including addenda)
18. Follow-up on technical questions, problems, or non-conforming items identified by the Contractor and provide feedback to the Quality Manager.
19. Assist with equipment / materials rejection and / or nonconformance resolution process.
20. Ensure efficient communication with the EPC company, operational and functional support team members.
21. Provide thorough and efficient documentation review, comments, and follow-up in a timely manner.
22. Prepare regular reports for the Quality Manager.
Assignment details:
$75/hr (1.5 OT after 40)
$150/calendar day (including site closures, except voluntary vacation days)
5 days/40 hours (but typically standard 50hr week with 10 hr. OT)
1 yr. duration with potential extension
