Information Management & Document Control Specialist
Location: Houston, TX
Contract: 1 Year
Pay: $40–$55/hour
We are looking for an experienced Information Management & Document Control Specialist to support a major energy project in Houston. This is an owner-side role focused on document management, controlled information, workflows, and coordination across EPC contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on Hexagon SDx experience and a strong background in document control within an EPC, energy, LNG, oil & gas, or similar project environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage project documentation through electronic document management systems
• Process, track, review, and maintain controlled project documentation
• Support document workflows, metadata, revisions, approvals, and document status
• Coordinate document control requirements between contractors, vendors, engineering, construction, commissioning, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure documents meet project requirements, processes, and contractual requirements
• Support document control processes during the transition between EDMS platforms
• Identify opportunities to improve document workflows and overall efficiency
• Maintain accurate document logs, records, status information, and reporting
• Research, retrieve, and validate document-related information as needed
• Provide guidance to project stakeholders on document management processes and systems
• Participate in project meetings and support issue resolution related to document control
Requirements
• 7 years of Document Control experience supporting EPC contractors or an owner/operator
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on Hexagon SDx experience
• Strong understanding of document management and metadata-driven workflows
• Experience with electronic document management systems
• Aconex or PIMS experience is preferred
• Experience supporting major engineering, construction, energy, LNG, oil & gas, or industrial projects preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving
Important: Candidates must be able to clearly explain how they have personally used Hexagon SDx in previous roles. General exposure to SDx without hands-on experience will not meet the requirement.
