Position Summary
We are seeking a Stretcher Aid to assist with the safe transport of patients requiring stretcher services. This role is hands-on and requires physical strength, attention to safety, and a high level of compassion and professionalism.
You will work alongside a driver to ensure patients are transported safely to and from medical appointments, facilities, and residences. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading patients using stretcher equipment
- Safely transport patients to and from homes, hospitals, and medical facilities
- Provide physical assistance to patients during transfers (bed ↔ stretcher)
- Ensure proper securement of patients during transport
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and compassionate demeanor at all times
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and HIPAA guidelines
Physical Requirements (MANDATORY)
Candidates must be able to demonstrate and perform the following with assistance:
- Lift and stabilize a patient weighing up to 180 lbs on a stretcher
- Safely transfer a patient weighing up to 180 lbs from bed to stretcher
- Lift and maneuver a stretcher with a patient weighing up to 180 lbs up and down at least 3 steps (These are essential job functions and will be evaluated during the hiring process)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous NEMT, healthcare, EMS, or caregiving experience is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations
- Reliable and punctual
- Must pass background check and drug screening
