Essential Functions
The Safety Manger is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s safety programs across all construction projects. This role ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including standards established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This includes but is not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, state, local, and client safety requirements
- Lead job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and site safety planning
- Review high-risk activities and approve subcontractor safety plans
- Conduct routine and unannounced site inspections to identify and correct hazards
- Maintain ISNetworld compliance and client reporting requirements
- Authorize stop-work actions for unsafe conditions and ensure corrective action closure
- Lead incident, near-miss, and safety violation investigations; implement root cause solutions
- Oversee safety training programs, new hire orientation, and field leadership coaching
- Track and report safety metrics (TRIR, DART, EMR, inspections, audits)
- Manage safety budgets, PPE standards, and job site emergency preparedness
Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience. OSHA 30 Hour Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED is required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and governmental regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
