About CCi Voice
CCi Voice is a fast-growing, award-winning telecom and technology company headquartered in Bethel, Connecticut. We deliver voice, video surveillance, access control, Wi-Fi, and other technology solutions to municipalities, schools, nonprofits, and businesses throughout the Northeast—all with personal attention, technical expertise, and a values-driven approach.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for another Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for accounts payable, payroll, and HR administration, along with cross-training in customer billing and other accounting functions.
Our goal is to build a collaborative accounting team where our Staff Accountants understand multiple areas of the business and can back each other up when needed and are continuously striving to improve the company's operations.
We opened a brand-new, upscale office in Bethel, CT. This is a hybrid position: you’ll work with our team in the office several days a week, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week once you’re fully trained and comfortable in the role.
Why This Role Is Important
You’ll work closely with our CFO and existing Staff Accountant to help manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing company.
Your initial responsibilities will center on accounts payable, payroll, and HR administration. You’ll also be cross-trained in customer billing, reconciliations, and other accounting functions, allowing our accounting team to provide seamless backup for one another.
Over time, we want you to understand the full accounting cycle—not just one piece of it.
What You’ll Do
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payments, and account reconciliation
- Assist with bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Handle day-to-day HR administration, including employee records, benefits coordination, onboarding/offboarding, 401 (k) plan, and related documentation
- Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline the accounts payable and payroll/HR administration functions
- Crosstrain with our existing Staff Accountant on customer billing and other accounting functions; serve as a back-up for that function
- Work with the CFO on month-end activities and special projects
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing, vendor, payroll, and accounting questions
Success Milestones
✅ 2 Months: You’re confidently managing accounts payable and payroll and have developed a good understanding of our company, and its HR processes and accounting systems.
✅ 6 Months: You’re cross-trained in customer billing and other key accounting functions and can provide effective backup to our existing Staff Accountant.
✅ 12 Months: You and your accounting teammate can reliably back each other up across billing, A/P, payroll, and other core functions. You’ve become a trusted resource for the CFO and other departments and are helping us continually improve our financial processes.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
- Recent college graduates with strong accounting coursework, internships, or co-op experience are encouraged to apply
- Comfortable working with accounts payable, reconciliations, and detailed financial data
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills required; QuickBooks (Desktop) experience is a plus
- Experience with payroll or HR administration is helpful, but we can train the right person
- Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and discrete handling confidential information
- Willing to learn various software platforms and multiple accounting functions rather than specialize in just one area
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, small-business environment where people pitch in when needed
