Location: Medical Center Office Building (901 7th Ave) Department: Research Administration Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: The Executive Scientist of the Pediatric Precision Health Program (PPHP) will oversee divisions of research programs focusing on advanced genomic medicine, computational biology, and precision-driven, team-based pediatric care at the AVP level. They will provide vision, strategy, and executive leadership for Cook Children’s research division focused on advanced genomic medicine, computational biology, and precision-driven, team-based pediatric care. The AVP PPHP will architect, grow, and oversee a multidisciplinary department that unites research, clinical innovation, education, and technology-driven scientific discovery. This position will direct a portfolio of gene-specific clinics, a core variant analysis group, and data science platforms—bridging cutting-edge analytics with real-world, deeply integrated pediatric patient care. The AVP will be responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration and impact, driving operational excellence, maintaining national visibility, and cultivating external partnerships including those with UT Arlington. The AVP will guide departmental strategy, funding pursuits, personnel development, and the deployment of new translational pipelines for rapid implementation of genomic discoveries at the bedside. Education and Experience Doctorate (MD, PhD) in a biomedical discipline aligned with the departmental orientation, medical and/or surgical specialty Fifteen or more years of relevant research experience conducting clinical and/or translational science Proven capable of successfully obtaining and managing extramural funding (e.g., extramural grants, endowments, etc.) Extensive publication, as senior author, of impactive scientific results in the peer-reviewed medical and/or scientific literature Proven leadership among cross-disciplinary teams of biomedical scientists engaged in collaborative studies Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification If a physician, must have a MD or DO license in the state of Texas About Us: Cook Children's Health Care System Cook Children's Health Care System offers a unique approach to caring for children because we are one of the country's leading integrated pediatric health care delivery organizations.
