CCH Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations at one of our skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities in the greater Cincinnati area. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a hands-on nursing leader with strong longterm care experience and a commitment to quality outcomes, regulatory excellence, and team development.
Position Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and ongoing evaluation of all nursing services within the facility. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (ODH, CMS, OSHA, and applicable state and federal guidelines)
Lead survey readiness efforts, manage surveys, and implement plans of correction
Monitor clinical quality measures and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures
Collaborate closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary leadership team
Oversee staffing levels, scheduling, and labor management to support quality care and budget expectations
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives for nursing staff
Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Review incident reports, audits, and clinical data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Participate in budgeting and cost-control initiatives related to nursing services
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio (required)
Minimum 3–5 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
Prior Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey processes, and quality metrics
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation preferred
Schedule
Full-time, on-site
Primarily day shift with flexibility as needed to support clinical operations
