Malcolm X College is currently seeking a Full-Time Faculty Training Specialist for the Basic Nursing Assistant Program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·       Collaborate with the Dean of Nursing to ensure that the Basic Nursing Assistant Program Standards are fully executed, documented and maintained.

·       Facilitate courses to ensure learning outcomes are fully executed and promote students’ active participation in their own learning.

·       Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.

·       Analyzes data to improve instruction and models instructional strategies which promote student achievement.

·       Provide instructional deliverables and feedback in a timely manner.  

·       Provide resources and support to help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn.

·       Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies.

·       Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academic and professional communities and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

·       Minimum of 5 years work experience in Nursing.

·       Minimum of 2 years work experience in an academic setting.

·       Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university, with the ability to earn a master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university within five years of initial hiring date. 

·       Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or Similar Learning Management System, preferred

·       Prior experience with online teaching (via Zoom) and/or teaching certification is strongly preferred.

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of staff and students, required

·       Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population is desired, as a commitment to the open access mission of the community college

Salary : $82,000 - $90,000
