What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Clinical Educator - RN position at CC Young?
CC Young, a vibrant senior living community and a non-profit leader in senior living and Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Campus Clinical Educator position to be responsible for conducting and coordinating New Hire Orientation, monthly in-services, and the Certified Nurse Aide Training Program, as well as identifying and developing new training programs, maintaining all educational records, and working with the various nursing units to conduct hands on training with the employees as needed.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Campus Wide
- Coordinate all aspects of orientation for campus employees.
- Maintain all educational files and vaccination, TB and other clinical records for all employees in accordance with State and other guidelines/requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing departments to coordinate annual skills check for clinical staff members to ensure adherence to CC Young procedures and Best Nursing Practices.
- Develop monthly in-service programs each calendar year which includes State/Federal mandatory in-services and topics deemed needed by the leadership of CC Young.
- Maintain various databases including online learning providers and employee messaging system to assure that all new employees are added and terminated employees are removed from the database.
- Coordinate with outside vendors as needed for CPR, Certified Dementia Practitioner and other specialty training courses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
CNA Training Program
- Maintain accurate and appropriate student, instructor, and course documentation.
- Manage the educational experience for students in the classroom and clinical rotation, tailoring it to the needs of the class while assuring all required areas are adequately covered.
- Conduct study sessions to assist the students to study for the state certification exam for CNAs.
- Ensure nursing assistant training program continues to meet State and Federal guidelines for curriculum and content.
- Manage the approved education program and submits appropriate forms to State Agency as required.
- Prepare lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction, and method of evaluation for each class scheduled and completed.
- Supervise and monitor nursing assistant students throughout evaluation period, and when transitioning to their new role within the facility.
- Assists in the prescreening of potential CNA candidates as applicable.
- Maintain comprehensive nursing assistant files during the GNA evaluation period and provides to the Staffing Coordinator.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Possession of a valid RN License in good standing in the State of Texas.
- 2 years of experience as an RN in a hospital, long-term care or other healthcare facility.
- 1 years of experience developing and conducting training programs.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills for interaction with all levels of Company, Residents, Guests and Vendor personnel.
- Proven knowledge of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care.
- Experience creating in-services/presentations through PowerPoint, Canva or similar programs.
