What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Specialist - W2 Only (NO 3rd Party) position at CBTS?
Role: Desktop Support / Logistics Specialist
Location: Portland OR, Onsite
Duration: 7 months, with possible extensions
Pay rate: $30-35/hour on W2 (client will not consider C2C)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security tools.
- Assist with user account management (Active Directory, email, VPN, etc.).
- Manage inventory of IT equipment, accessories, and spare parts.
- Coordinate procurement, shipping, and receiving of hardware/software.
- Track asset lifecycle: deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
Required skills:
- Experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk.
- Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
- Experience in logistics, inventory management, or procurement is a plus.
